unfortunately, the embedded link isn't working right, but try it out:

*The director of this video was Sean Pecknold (aka Robin Pecknold, the Fleet Foxes frontman's brother), check out his vimeo! As it turns out, he has done most of the Fleet Foxes' music videos, as well as some other beautiful short films/music videos.

banananaaaaas!

I bought a deluxe edition of the Miles Davis album, Bitches Brew, a while back. I highly recommend it! Many people believe is it his worst album because it so crazy/different ('free jazz'/'experimental jazz') and not the regular 'jazz' they are used to hearing him play--but I have a thing for experimental music.

Do you like 'experimental music'? If so, check out Steve Reich on NPR, and Radiohead, playing a Steve Reich piece in this video.

I should be working on a research paper right now...about the 4-track tape machine as an instrument in early electronic music...but I am too good at procrastinating and what not.

By the way, college is driving me bananasss!

I recently fractured my foot--by tripping on the sidewalk one night in Greenwich Village. I thought it was just a sprain, so I walked on it for a couple days. It still hurt, so I decided to get it checked out...I ended up having to use crutches for a while (which was a pain in the ass, to say the least). Now I just have to wear an ugly boot and try not to walk much -- so unchill.

Anyway, those kids from that Disney channel tv-show, 'the suite life of zach and cody' both live in my residence. one of them is the president of the building's government. What are their names? oh yeah, dylan and cole sprouse. I've seen a couple other famous people around the streets in nyc too. I saw that girl from Mean Girls (who was also in Mama Mia and Chloe) earlier this week--at least i think it was her, she was so tiny. My roommate has run into Julian Casablancas and Alec Baldwin. So crazy, I wish I had been there too!

d00d, i am so0o full.

Happy Thanksgiving (aka the worst american holiday)!

I don't like turkey or cranberry sauce, or mashed sweet potatoes, or green bean casserole, but I still ate too much. Maybe I'm just a 'thanksgiving scrooge,' but i think everyone can agree that 'the first thanksgiving' is a bunch of bull, and the 'pilgrims' ended up 'pillaging' the native americans, and bringing them european diseases......thats so not chill.

OH SHIIT. THE HUNGER GAMES.
(sorry for all-caps, i am really excited for this movie...but i am worried it will not be satisfying. like all book-turned-movie movies, it will probably not be nearly as good as the books. but at least the author of the books was the screenwriter for the movie)
They have already announced that the second film will come out in 2012, so I guess the first one is expected to be well received (there are actually some very good actors in it!).

If you haven't seen it yet, here is the first official trailer:

*I keep trying to watch it again, looking for anything that I missed, but I don't think there is anything else to see, its too short.

Life in a Day, Tomorrow in a Year

NYU has many 'satellite' campuses around the world, but the only one that has classes in my major, is Prague. I really want to go. The classes are only offered in the fall, so I would probably have to go next fall, or the one after (but I'd rather do next fall, and take some classes over this summer).
Many of my international friends have told me that Prague is nice, but I shouldn't bother learning the language (Czech)...that is a little sad, but ok. Hopefully, if/when I am studying there, I will have the chance to explore throughout the European Union (now that I will receive my Spanish Citizenship very shortly).

I've been listening to a lot of Washed Out lately. Everyone knows its some of the best music to make love to, it's just sensual//sexy. I mean just look at the cover art on the latest album--sex:

Also, tUnE-yArDs' song, Bizness is brilliant. I recently found out, that she will be performing at the Lincoln Center. Thats a pretty big deal right? The video (below) is similar to performance art, and I just love the sound of the guitar at the beginning. She is beautiful artist, whoo seems to be confident in her style/artwork. You go girl!

Hmm, check this out:
Life in a Day (a movie you can watch on youtube/right here).
*not gunna lie, I haven't watched it yet...but I plan on finishing it soon. For now, enjoy and leave comments about it!

The title reminds me of The Knife album, Tomorrow, in a Year (which I love, and just happened to buy last week). I like to describe the album as an electronic opera. Do you agree? or am I way off?

fall allergens are on the rise

I've been sneezing a ton, I hope its just my allergies....but I haven't been sleeping much--so much work to do! I keep trying to post, but then I run out of time, and then things get really out of date. So, below are a few things I'd like to post.

Random links/videos/shit:
Some cheesy video about living in NYC:

This is a great Tumblr for hipster jokes. It is very timely, and very true: Halloween or Williamsburg

Another installment of Pitchfork 3D:

*This band is super chill. I love listening to them while doing homework (or while driving--when I had a car, back at home). **This video reminds me of what things look like when in an influenced state of being.

A friend of mine made this twitter, Space Dad. It is a program that he wrote to update every hour, posting random sentences found on the internet. Its pretty funny, check it out!!

If you love dogs as much as I do, you are gunna die from cuteness:
Tompkins square park halloween dog parade photos and more photos. and some suppa cute photos from last year.
This awesome, dog-filled music video, by a band whom I love:

Awwccupy Wall Street  is adorbs, and if you liked that, here are some more animals at OWS!

I am part of the 99%. I like this insight on the truths/myths about OWS.
